A good education provides the best chance for children to break the cycle of poverty and homelessness. Understanding more about the experiences of homeless students in school and the disparities many encounter is an important step toward addressing their unique educational needs and challenges.

Given the prevalence of homelessness among school-age students, educators and policymakers need to understand the specific educational challenges that students experiencing homelessness face and be aware of the resources and opportunities that exist to help these students reach their potential.
